Join us! Participatory democracy - exploring experiences

MosaicLab event - participatory democracy and deliberation workshop - IPAA Public Sector Weekorkshop - IPAA Public Sector Week

Join us for an interactive forum at IPAA Public Sector Week 2017!  If you have ever wondered 'what is participatory or deliberative democracy' and 'how do I include these ideas in my work' then this is the session for you.

MosaicLab co-founders Nicole Hunter and Keith Greaves will be leading this practical and insightful session which features Iain Walker - NewDemocracy Foundation Executive Director, Dr Graeme Emonson - Executive Director, Local Government Victoria, Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning, Betsy Anderson - Barwon Water Senior Regulatory Analyst and Jeremi Moule - Executive Director of Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol Branch at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet.

You will have the opportunity to experience some of the key tools used in deliberative engagement processes and understand the complexity and opportunity that comes from navigating a diverse group of people around a complex issue and facilitating the decision-making process.

You will also get the chance to talk to public sector staff and specialist consultants with experience in using deliberative democracy to help tackle major public policy challenges.

See deliberative democracy in action as the room uses the process to analyse a current public policy challenge!
