Around 100 mayors and councillors from across Victoria gathered in Essendon on 10 February 2023 for the Municipal Association of Victoria’s (MAV) flagship leadership conference.

This year’s theme was the ‘Power of Your Leadership Legacy’.

MosaicLab was thrilled to sponsor the keynote address given by Rafael Epstein, host of the Drive show on ABC Radio Melbourne. MosaicLab Managing Director Nicole Hunter introduced Raf to the stage, where he shared insights into the changing landscape of media and politics.

Speaking from his perspective as a journalist, he gave a deeper understanding of how councillors can demonstrate leadership and build community trust and confidence through the media.

It was once again a drawcard at our MAV exhibition stand, where we invited delegates to try their luck at winning prizes – such as a free copy of our book Facilitating Deliberation – A Practical Guide, a social media shout-out, a high-five or a hug!

Our directors Nicole Hunter and Keith Greaves were joined by some of the MosaicLab team to talk with leaders about their biggest leadership challenges and how they hope to shape their legacy.

ADVOCATING FOR COMMUNITY

Many councillors spoke warmly of their communities and the challenge that comes with wanting to “make everybody happy”.
