FREE WEBINAR: SECURING DECISION-MAKER BUY-IN

FREE WEBINAR: SECURING DECISION-MAKER BUY-IN

The next round of MosaicLab’s free Lunch and Learn webinars focuses on a common conundrum for engagement practitioners everywhere: how to get decision-maker buy-in and support.

We understand. We see you. You know what kind of investment is needed to engage successfully and you know what a profound impact a genuine process can have on organisations, communities, projects and society more broadly.

If only the people approving the budgets knew it too. If only the leaders in your organisation understood the investment required. If only you didn’t need to work so hard to convince the decision-makers to get on board!

Nodding your head? Then our next webinar in April is for you. Scroll down to read what participants at a previous webinar had to say about the experience.

MosaicLab has been running free Lunch and Learn sessions every month since September 2022. They are specially designed for anyone who wants to upskill in engagement practice; from leaders, project managers and planners to communications professionals, facilitators and engagement practitioners.

The sessions are delivered by our very own specialist and experienced team (the people who wrote the book on deliberative engagement).

April: How to get decision maker buy-in

Wednesday 26 April 2023
12.30pm - 1.30pm AEDT

This one-hour interactive webinar will focus on engaging one of the most critical stakeholder groups: decision-makers.

Engaging with decision-makers can be hard. Common mistakes can include:

  • limiting decision-maker involvement due to fear that decision-makers will try to control or stop the process

  • leaving them out of the process until the end because of a belief that decision-makers only play one role

  • pitching to decision-makers at the wrong level – involving them in a discussion around the low-level details and ‘how’ of the process

  • believing that because there’s technically no decision-maker sign off required for this project that decision-maker involvement is unnecessary.

We’ll share why you need decision-makers to champion your engagement process, not oppose it. Their involvement affects every part of your process: from the promise you make, to the activities you undertake.

We’ll offer practical tips for working with your key decision-makers, and you’ll have a chance to share your insights too in short, sharp conversations throughout the event.

May: Leaders’ Conversation Circle

Wednesday 24 May 2023
12:30pm – 1:30pm AEDT

Join us online to ‘unpack’ the decision-maker buy-in session. This is a great chance to come back with some examples of what you have applied and dive deeper into the content. You will get to share your learnings with fellow practitioners, or just join in and listen and get advice from our specialist team about how we might approach an issue or challenge you may be having.

We’ll share a registration link for this session closer to the date. Check our web page for updates.

PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK MAKES OUR DAY!

Thank you to the hundreds of people who have joined us online for our free Lunch and Learn webinars since they launched last September.

Here’s what some of the people who participated in the 16 February webinar about engaging diverse voices said about the session. Thanks for your kind words!

WHAT I LIKED THE MOST:

I like the practical tips on ‘how to’ implement the knowledge - it puts the concepts into simple,
actionable terms.

All of it.
Great to gather everyone’s thoughts quickly on the whiteboard.

OVERALL, HERE’S WHAT I THOUGHT:

The MosaicLab team always brings great professionalism, enthusiasm and a dash of humour to their work. This makes the learning really engaging and interesting.
— Participant
I think striking a balance between a short, sharp lunchtime session and covering enough material to be worthwhile is always going to be tricky. I think MosaicLab does a good job of this, though.

NEW: LEADERS’ CONVERSATION CIRCLES

Every alternate month in 2023, we’ll be running conversation circles designed to enrich your learning further.

Participants can bring along lessons from the previous session, tell us what worked, what didn’t and explore ways to take their skills to another level. Even if you didn’t take part in the previous session, there is still value in attending these follow-up circles – especially if the topic is one that resonates.

These sessions are more conversational and about learning from each other. They are a chance to ask questions and further explore how to apply the skills to your role or project situations.

Every session is facilitated by a specialist engagement practitioner from MosaicLab, and you’ll receive free resources following the session to support your learning.
