MEET THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR MOSAICLAB FAMILY

BLOG HEADERS - Meet new staff members - option 2.png

While it feels like the world has been somewhat on hold this year with COVID-19, MosaicLab has been busy growing.

We are thrilled to have welcomed three new members to our team. Each brings with them experience in participation, engagement and deliberation, as well as the enthusiasm and shared values that we view as essential to being a part of MosaicLab.

You can find out more about our newest team members below.

Laura Grant - MosaicLab facilitator
Working at MosaicLab is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with creative souls who are committed to facilitating meaningful dialogue within organisations and communities.

Laura Grant

The most interesting or unusual job I’ve ever had was in a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Timbuktu, Mali (yes, Timbuktu is a real place!).

I feel happiest when I am listening to music, playing piano or singing.

3 words to describe MosaicLab might be creative, engaged and collaborative.

I was drawn to work with MosaicLab because I am intrigued by the potential of deliberative democracy to transform how governments and societies make decisions.

On a typical day at work you might find me designing a facilitation session with my colleagues or facilitating a group.

Over the next year with MosaicLab I’m looking forward to facilitating deliberative and high-influence engagement processes!

The most satisfying/fulfilling part of my role is collaborating with my colleagues to design powerful experiences and seeing the transformative effect they have on groups we work with.

Something not many people know about me is I would love to perform in musical theatre! Rent or Wicked would be a dream come true.

Jess - resized 350x350.png
My work has almost always been about helping people get in touch with what matters most to them so I’m excited to work on high-impact projects with MosaicLab where people experience a sense of influence and agency in relation to decisions that impact them.

The most interesting or unusual job I’ve ever had was as a uni student I worked with a flock of sheep to produce human vaccines. My job was giving the sheep injections and then collecting some of their blood once their immune system had responded – a little like they were at the Blood Bank! The sheep were well cared for and lived a long time.

I feel happiest when…most of the time really. When I am with my best friend and husband Adam, our horse and dog. When I am making something. When I am connecting with people in a real and honest way. When I am in a rugged natural environment with big trees and stones. When I am in a new place that feels completely foreign.

3 words to describe MosaicLab might be service-oriented, efficient. committed.

I was drawn to work with MosaicLab because helping people to have important conversations is one of the best things I can do with my time.

On a typical day at work you might find me on a Zoom call with 30 people I have never met, asking them to reflect and innovate in relation to a challenge they face. Or using the project management software to keep projects on track!

Over the next year with MosaicLab, I’m looking forward to learning and growing with the team, and getting to know our old and new clients and help them engage their stakeholders in new and fruitful ways - particularly in light of the impacts of Covid-19.

The most satisfying/fulfilling part of my role is creating space for people to express their values and preferences.

Something not many people know about me is I jumped out of a plane while I was on a solo holiday in the Kimberleys back in 2009. I didn’t tell my parents about it until after landing safely!

I am excited to be a part of an organisation that values democracy and provides an opportunity for people to engage with each other on important decisions.

NOA LEVIN

The most interesting or unusual job I’ve ever had is running big 2 week camps for hundreds of kids, in tents, in the middle of summer.

I feel happiest when I am busy!

3 words to describe MosaicLab might be collective, pioneering, insightful.

I was drawn to work with MosaicLab because of their penchant for democracy and giving people a voice.

On a typical day at work you might find me with my old radio playing some strange mix station for background music to whatever I'm doing.

Over the next year with MosaicLab, I’m looking forward to learning from the brilliant minds behind MosaicLab.

The most satisfying/fulfilling part of my role is being at the forefront of what should be a common practice for all citizens.

Something not many people know about me is my nickname and middle name is Daisy!
