Did you see last month's invaluable deliberation insights post? We shared a video chock full of ideas and advice from project managers who had been through a deliberative journey.
This month, we're sharing the second video in this series - insights from decision makers who have led their organisations though a deliberative engagement experience.
Both videos were shown during our June Deliberation Ready Training session for leaders, managers and decision makers in Melbourne. The day was designed to help participants get themselves and their organisation ready for a successful journey into deliberative engagement.
Because we love to share resources and are always seeking to help others to improve their engagement skills and processes, we are giving you free, exclusive access to one of our fabulous Deliberation Ready Training resources our participants had access to during their session.
DELIBERATION THROUGH THE EYES OF DECISION MAKERS
The four decision makers featured in this video have all experienced a deliberative process and have taken the time to share some of their learnings, knowledge and advice. We are incredibly grateful to the following individuals for taking time out of their busy schedules to take part in these interviews and for providing such an invaluable resource to others:
- Tracey Slatter, Managing Director, Barwon Water. (Project: 2018 Price Submission Community Panel)
- Chris Eddy, Chief Executive Officer, Hobsons Bay City Council (Project: Hobsons Bay 2030).
- Graeme Emonson, Executive Director, Local Government Victoria (Project: Geelong Citizens' Jury)
- Stephen Mayne, Former Councillor and Chair, Finance and Governance Committee, City of Melbourne (Project: 10 year Financial Plan - People's Panel)
All of the processes referenced in this video were supported and facilitated by MosaicLab. For more insights into these and other projects, view some of our past project snapshots here or read some of our in-depth case studies on our blog.
STAY TUNED ...
We are working on a post providing insights into the trainees' experiences and what they learned - which was a whole lot in just one, jam-packed day! We are also deciding on a brand new date for our next training day (register your interest here!).
