mosaiclab PRIVACY COLLECTION NOTICE
MosaicLab is a team of senior, experienced community engagement consultants and facilitators, specialising in high-influence and deliberative engagement.
To demostrate the impact of our work to our clients and the public, we use pre and post-deliberation surveys.
The survey is divided into two sections: Part A and Part B. The responses provided in Part A of the survey are used by MosaicLab to compile an end-of-process report for the commissioning organisation. The main topics of part A include previous community engagement experience, confidence of implementation, trust and accountability, collaboration and authenticity of the process, and the integrity of the information provided during the process.
Part B responses are collected by our research partners, MIT professor Bailey Flannigan and London School of Economic and Political Science assistant professor Alexandra Cirone, who are studying the impact of deliberative processes on public spirit, decision-making and participation in deliberative processes.
Your responses for both part A and B will remain anonymous, meaning no names will be collected or stored and individual responses will not be identifiable.
Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. By completing the survey, respondents have implied their consent for MosaicLab to use the de-identified data to develop a process report for the commissioning client and to support research conducted by Bailey Flannigan and Alexandra Cirone examining the impact of deliberative democracy.
In the case you wish to formally opt-out of the survey, you can do so by reaching out to register@mosaiclab.com.au.
In addition to your survey responses, you’ll be asked to re-enter some brief demographic information you may have provided during the EOI phase of the recruitment process. This is because the survey is a separate data collection process, and not everyone who registered will complete both surveys. Collecting this information helps us match and filter the survey results accurately and is used as variables for research purposes. Demographic data will also be handled in accordance with our data protection procedures and de-identification practices.
Comprehensive information about how MosaicLab collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information is detailed in our Privacy Policy, accessible at: www.mosaiclab.com.au/privacy-policy.
Our Privacy Policy also outlines your rights regarding:
- Access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correction of any inaccuracies in your personal information; and
- Lodging a complaint regarding the handling of your personal data.
University and Third-Party Research Data Use Protocols
If a university or third-party researcher requests access to survey data for research purposes that align with MosaicLab’s values and goals, the following data protection protocols will be strictly adhered to:
No identifying, individual-level data may be released or published under any circumstances.
Data must be stored on a secure, password-protected device. Cloud storage is not permitted.
Access to the dataset must be limited to the minimum number of individuals necessary.
When referencing the deliberative assembly in academic publications or public materials, researchers must avoid disclosing its specific location (e.g., refer to “a state-level assembly in Australia”)
Upon completion of the research, all local copies of the data must be permanently deleted.
