Quality & communication lead
- Jane Lovejoy
Jane has worked in diverse communication, brand management and community engagement roles across government, not for profit and private sectors. She has designed and delivered strategies and processes around many issues ranging from infrastructure and strategic planning to water management and customer service.
Jane has a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communication) majoring in Public Relations and Journalism, and specialist training in facilitation and IAP2 engagement practices. She has experience in working with outrage and emotion, and the ability to build effective, strategic communication and engagement approaches around sensitive and complex issues.
Jane also specialises in developing communication strategies and content that support and enhance engagement outcomes. She believes that connecting people to the process is key to achieving transparency and increasing broad support of the final decision.
Her varied career has included events management, media relations, website development, content writing and fundraising.
She was the original creator of one of Geelong’s annual events - Catwalk for Cancer - which has now raised over $400,000 for Geelong’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre.
Her previous projects have included designing and managing the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee’s (now the Great Ocean Road Authority) Coast Guardians schools environmental education program which has now been running successfully for more than ten years.
However, it was finding community engagement and facilitation that shifted Jane’s career focus and made her feel like she’d found her ‘home’. She loves being part of a team of highly specialised professionals who deliver work that has a positive impact on our society, and believes in the power of meaningful participation and deliberation to bring about transformative change.
