ABOUT THE invitation

The City of Melbourne is putting the community at the centre of its decision-making. To ensure Melbourne continues to thrive in the future, we’re launching an exciting partnership with our community to develop the Melbourne 2050 Vision - a blueprint for our city’s long-term aspirations and future. 

Melbourne is celebrated for its cultural diversity, liveability and innovation, but as our city grows and evolves, it faces new challenges and opportunities that require careful planning and forward-thinking strategies.  

The process for developing the 2050 Vision will include making recommendations to address the immediate needs of the community through our next Council Plan, which will be the first step toward delivering the new vision.  

You’re invited to express interest in joining the Melbourne 2050 People’s Panel - a 50-member panel that will consider this important question:

Our city is growing and changing, which presents challenges and opportunities for all.
What do you want Melbourne to be in 2050, and what is important for us to do now to get there?

The panel's work is important. It will help ensure that the City of Melbourne’s plans are supporting the Melbourne of today, while planning for the changing needs of tomorrow.
